Our mission is to encourage medical outreach of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Detroit
The society is an Associate Participant of the Network of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for Pastoral Healthcare. The society is a 501c3 nonprofit based in Nashville, TN.
Our Metropolis is richly blessed with two priests who are also surgeons, Fr. Michael Bahlatzis and Fr. Peter Bistolarides. They have generously agreed to serve on the board and provide lectures regarding medical-ethical issues from an Orthodox perspective.

Fr. Michael Bahlatzis
Rev. Dr. Michael Bahlatzis was born in 1957 in Brooklyn, NY to Dionysios and Angeliki of Greece. Fr. Michael graduated with highest honors from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine with the D.P.M. (Doctor of Podiatric Medicine) degree in 1987 and from UHSA School of Medicine in 2007 with the M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) degree. He received the Dr. H. Harvey Haber Memorial Award for Excellence and Proficiency in Clinical Diagnosis in 1987.
Fr. Bistolarides was born to Konstantinos and Eleni Bistolarides on Feb 10, 1956 in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, and grew up in Scarborough (Toronto) Ontario. He attended the University of Toronto where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1980 and MBA in 1991.Our board
